Idea generation

1.       Story idea number one:
This tells the story of a young girl named Faye Edwards. She is about the age of 16/17 having just finished school and started her A levels. This film shows her great passion for dancing and her struggle, to get into a professional dance college. It is a story of her successes and disappointments through her many auditions. Faye lives at home with her parents who refuse to support her as they constantly tell her that dancing is ‘not a real career’. They have ‘bigger hopes’ for her and would much rather she go on to university to study. Because of this, they refuse to pay for her dance classes and she is force to get a job to support herself. The theme of this film is ‘the journey’: the journey that you go through in life. My inspiration for the theme of ‘the journey’ in this film is taken from the short film ‘The Plan’.

2.       Story idea number 2:
This story is a critique of Celebrity. My inspiration for this is taken from Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’ as it showed me that the ‘Celeb’ nowadays is dependent on many things and feeds off the media and the Public’s attention. This tells the story of a young girl, Eloise, who begins shy, not knowing how much talent she has. As the story goes on and she becomes more and more adored by the public, her feet become further and further off the ground and she becomes swept up in the ‘celeb lifestyle’.

3.       Story idea number 3:
This is a story of destiny and how two people’s paths keep on crossing until they finally meet. It follows a day in the life of a girl, Ruby and a boy, Josh, from the moment their alarms go off in the morning to their meeting at the end of the day. We see them going to get going to get their morning coffee at the same coffee shop. They notice each other but Ruby is in a hurry so she walks straight on. Their paths keep crossing during the course of the day. Ruby is carrying loads of coffees, ready to take back to the office and Josh is on the phone and not looking ahead and they bump into each other spilling the coffees all over both of them. They recognise each other and start to talk.
